Airplane! Zero Hour! I’m speechless…

I innocently check out WFMU’s Beware of the Blog, and find out a staple of my childhood, Airplane!, was what it was (funny, at least for me as a kid) somewhat because it’s a remake of a 1957 disaster movie, Zero Hour!.  Indeed, some of the funniest bits are comprised of faithfully reproducing 50’s movie histrionics, including Leslie Neilsen‘s speech patterns.  Go read about it, and watch a 10 minute clip editing together the most relevant bits of Zero Hour!, here…this is like finding out the quaint lady who used to visit your parents was really weird uncle Ernie.

Here’s the link again, separated from my babbling: http://blog.wfmu.org/freeform/2007/09/out-of-context-.html
